Welcome to BOG!

Hello dear yet-to-be readers. As this is my first post and I am not a celebrity I am guessing it won't have to many readers, for starters that is.

As soon as I have gotten around to write a few posts regarding the topic it will probably be flodded and in deep need of google's all resources. Until then.

Here comes a smallish presentation, just for you!

I am a swede living in Sweden. This blog is in English mainly because I did not want like the whole world to miss out on my great words. Also it makes for a greater audience!

Not really anything else you will need to know about me, since this is not to be a blog about me..

Onward and we are at BOG. Bored of Games. It does pretty much sum it all up, don't it?

It is damn hard to find such a repetitive media as games. Doing the same thing over and over again. Both developers and gamers are to blame for this. Developers playing it safe and gamers just want more of what they love.

While this by itself maybe ain't that bad a thing it sure as hell won't encourages unique and new ways to approach games.

So in this blog I will try to find and share those games that actually does something new for our beloved community.

Also I will write about whatever games I find interesting, but mainly about those games you did not know about.

And to properly start it of here are a few games of high interest:

http://the-witness.net/ - Jonathan Blow's latest project (the one man army standing behind Braid). The game has pretty much only been announced. He is still exploring the puzzle elements, this time in an open world though. So far we have gotten a look at some concept arts and the knowledge that they he and his team takes shadowing really serious, which of course is a good thing. So just follow the above link and get enlightened by Mr Blow.

http://blog.wolfire.com/ - Overgrowth, as the game being developed by the wolfire team is called is a third person action game. In which rabbits, dogs, cats and wolfs are all of equal size. But they still seem to keep to their own kind. Not much knowned about the plot. There are different clans and will probably be a lot fighting between them. You can follow the overgrowth comic which is currently being made to learn more about the story.  It is also the sequel to Lugaru, the ninja rabbit game with focus on the fighting. And apart from sharing  their everyday work on the blog with their "open dev" attitude (probably some really interesting stuff if you are into making games) the fighting system is what the fuzz in my ball is all about, at least!

To fully understand this i recommend you navigate over to http://www.wolfire.com/lugaru and at the very least try out the demo . The system is really smart using just one button while fighting, still brining a full ranch of different attacks. This is done by adding other elements to the equation of fighting, like the speed of your character, in what way you are facing the enemy, height of your character and more.

And that will do for now!

Remember to stay tuned.
